Dangote Refinery Launches Hotline to Report MRS Stations Selling PMS Above ₦739

Lagos — Dangote Petroleum Refinery has launched a dedicated hotline for Nigerians to report any MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved pump price of ₦739 per litre.

The refinery said the hotline, 0800 123 5264, is now active nationwide and is intended to promote transparency, consumer protection, and compliance with the new pricing regime across more than 2,000 MRS stations nationwide.

The development follows Dangote Refinery’s recent commencement of nationwide PMS sales at ₦739 per litre, a move described as a strategic intervention to stabilise fuel prices and ease the financial burden on Nigerians, particularly during the festive season.

Ensuring Compliance and Fair Pricing

In a statement, the refinery urged consumers to take advantage of the hotline to report any violations and help ensure that the benefits of the price reduction reach all Nigerians.

“We encourage Nigerians to avoid purchasing PMS at inflated prices when locally refined fuel is available at ₦739 per litre. Report any MRS station selling above this price by calling our hotline. Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach every consumer,” the refinery said.

Dangote Refinery reiterated its commitment to delivering affordable, high-quality fuel while protecting national economic interests.

Warning Against Artificial Scarcity

The refinery also warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity or manipulate fuel supply in response to the price reduction. It called on regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take firm action against such practices.

“Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to frustrate recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable,” the statement said, adding that such actions should not be tolerated, especially during the critical festive period.

Boosting Energy Security

According to the company, its operations are backed by a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres of PMS, ensuring steady supply nationwide. By refining fuel locally at scale, the refinery said it is reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports, conserving foreign exchange, stabilising the naira, and strengthening national energy security.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery described the hotline initiative as part of its broader commitment to price moderation, supply stability, and Nigeria’s long-term economic recovery.
