Fidelity Bank Honours Beauty Industry Leaders, Reaffirms Support for Women-Owned Businesses
The award recognised Onyeali-Ikpe’s leadership and Fidelity Bank’s contribution to the development of Beauty in the Motherland and the broader beauty enterprise ecosystem in Nigeria.

Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s beauty industry and women-owned businesses, following the presentation of a special recognition award to its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, at the Beauty in the Motherland 2026 commemorative dinner and awards ceremony in Lagos.
The ceremony, held on October 6 at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, brought together entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, creatives and other stakeholders to celebrate innovation, enterprise and achievements across the beauty and lifestyle sectors.
The award recognised Onyeali-Ikpe’s leadership and Fidelity Bank’s contribution to the development of Beauty in the Motherland and the broader beauty enterprise ecosystem in Nigeria.
The event was part of the three-day Beauty in the Motherland 2026 programme, which attracted more than 3,000 participants and over 300 exhibitors across the skincare, haircare, fragrance, cosmetics, wellness and related industries.
Speaking at the dinner, Onyeali-Ikpe said Fidelity Bank’s sponsorship of the initiative for the third consecutive year reflected the bank’s confidence in the potential of the beauty industry and the entrepreneurs driving its expansion.
She described the African beauty industry as vibrant, innovative and increasingly positioned to compete in international markets, stressing the importance of providing businesses with the financial resources, knowledge and market opportunities needed to achieve sustainable growth.
According to her, Fidelity Bank would continue to support entrepreneurs through access to finance, business development opportunities, relevant knowledge and connections to new markets.
She noted that the industry’s growing economic significance made it important for financial institutions to provide support that goes beyond conventional banking services to include capacity development and business advisory.
The recognition also highlighted the contribution of Fidelity Bank to an industry in which women and young entrepreneurs play significant roles in product development, retail, distribution and the delivery of beauty and wellness services.
Beyond sponsoring the exhibition and commemorative dinner, the bank provided participating businesses with account-opening assistance, payment solutions and advisory services. It also served as the exclusive point-of-sale provider for the event, enabling vendors to receive payments and encouraging the adoption of digital payment channels.
Among the solutions showcased were Fidelity POS Instant Settlement, PayGate Plus and the bank’s small and medium-sized enterprise accounts.
The bank’s representatives also engaged exhibitors on financial management, business expansion and access to banking services suited to their operations, as entrepreneurs explored opportunities to grow their customer base and establish new commercial relationships.
The Beauty in the Motherland exhibition provided a platform for businesses to showcase products, interact with prospective customers, participate in competitions and network with distributors, investors and potential business partners.
The organisers, Beatrice Obinna Eneh and Linda Edozien, said the initiative was established to celebrate and advance the human and natural resources underpinning the African beauty industry.
They explained that its long-term objective was to strengthen the structures supporting the industry, empower entrepreneurs and improve access to markets, thereby creating opportunities for businesses to expand beyond their immediate locations.
The commemorative dinner, hosted by Nancy Isime and Enioluwa Adeoluwa, also featured a musical performance by Nigerian singer Yemi Alade, adding entertainment to an evening dedicated to recognising achievements across the industry.
Fidelity Bank’s support for beauty entrepreneurs forms part of its broader small-business development initiatives, including the Fidelity SME Hub, Fidelity Quarterly Business Forum, SME masterclasses, HerFidelity and FundHer.
Through these platforms, the bank provides a range of services covering financing, capacity development, business advisory, digital solutions and market access, with particular attention to the needs of small businesses and women entrepreneurs.
The bank’s involvement in Beauty in the Motherland reflects the increasing importance of partnerships between financial institutions and industry platforms in helping small businesses overcome challenges associated with funding, payments, management capacity and market expansion.
For Nigeria’s beauty industry, which encompasses cosmetics manufacturing, skincare, haircare, fragrance, wellness and related services, access to finance and stronger commercial networks can help entrepreneurs improve operations, develop competitive products and reach wider markets.
The third consecutive year of Fidelity Bank’s sponsorship also underscored its continued engagement with the initiative and its efforts to connect entrepreneurs with financial products and services that support business growth.
As the sector continues to attract entrepreneurs and consumers, initiatives such as Beauty in the Motherland offer opportunities to showcase local products, encourage collaboration and strengthen the business relationships needed to develop the industry.
The recognition of Onyeali-Ikpe at the 2026 ceremony therefore formed part of a broader celebration of the entrepreneurs, professionals and institutions contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s beauty and lifestyle value chain.
